February 22, 2018 Condo Renovation
A personal letter:
Dear Jacob,
I am finally pretty much settled in my new home. As I sit and look around, I am so grateful to have found you for my contractor. You brought my vision and dream to fruition. I want to thank you for that.
You always hear about the nightmares of a home renovation project. My friends and family thought I was crazy to attempt it. But, thanks to you, my experience was very rewarding.
From the very first contact we had you showed great interest in my project and listened to my list of “must haves”. You offered many suggestions and ideas based on your past experience. You made a very diligent effort to insure the bid was as accurate as possible so there were no big surprises. When you presented the bid, you explained a couple areas where there might be an addition and gave me an approximate price should that happen. You also helped me make adjustments when the estimate went over my budget.
You were very up-front with the start date, explaining that you were two months out. When the time came, construction started when you estimated it would. Your completion date was right on schedule with your estimate.
You kept in constant contact with me as the work progressed to keep me informed as to what was going on. You ALWAYS returned my phone calls and texts and promptly addressed any concerns or questions I might have. A couple times, problems arose and something had to be changed. You notified me, then proceeded to take care of everything for me.
Since I wasn’t living on site during construction, I was very grateful to hear from my soon-to-be neighbors that all your workers – both subcontractors and your own crew – were very courteous and accommodating of their needs. You made sure the site was clean every day when you left. Every time I visited the site, I was treated with great respect and friendliness. I always had the feeling everyone was thrilled to be there to make me happy.
I visited the site on numerous occasions, so you would think that when it was all complete it wouldn’t have as much of an impact. Wrong! I always thought people on HGTV overreacted at the reveal – crying, jumping up and down, etc. – but there I was. One of “those” people. Everything down to the very last detail was so perfect and awesome. I just kept walking around in circles noticing one thing after another. Like I said earlier, you made my dream home a reality. There were a few miscellaneous items to be done after move-in, but they were all completed within a week.
This was such a huge step for me – doing a renovation by myself without my construction husband. I know he would be proud of me and my choices – the first choice being you, Jacob. Aside from your professional abilities, I found you to be a man of honesty, integrity, great work ethics, and a man of his word with a high moral standard and great love and dedication to his family. Thank you doesn’t even begin to express my gratefulness, but THANK YOU!
I know I rambled a little, but I wanted to get everything in there. Please feel free to use this as a letter of recommendation or to use me as a reference if anyone wants to call.
Respectfully,
Jeri E. Dodson
